Stop Guessing What Your Pottery Actually Costs to Make

Clay. Glaze. Kiln electricity. Element wear. Labor. Packaging. Studio overhead.

Every piece you make has a real cost - but when those costs are scattered across notebooks, receipts, and rough estimates, it becomes almost impossible to know whether you are actually making a profit.

The Pottery Studio Business Spreadsheet gives you one organized place to calculate your true cost per piece, set profitable prices, track kiln firing costs, manage glaze recipes, monitor sales, evaluate craft shows, track consignment, and understand your studio finances.

Built specifically for potters and ceramic artists.

One purchase. No subscription. No complicated software.

Use it in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel and keep your studio numbers under control.

EVERYTHING YOUR POTTERY STUDIO NEEDS - IN ONE SPREADSHEET

Whether you sell a few mugs at local markets or run a growing ceramics business, this system helps you answer the questions that matter:

  • What does this piece actually cost me to make?
  • What should I charge for it?
  • How much does each kiln firing cost?
  • Which glaze recipes are costing me the most?
  • Was that craft show actually profitable?
  • How much inventory do I have?
  • How much money am I really making?

Instead of guessing, you can work from your own numbers.

WHAT IT HELPS YOU DO

Price Your Pottery Properly

The Pricing Calculator combines your:

  • Clay cost

  • Glaze cost

  • Firing cost

  • Labor

  • Studio overhead

It then helps calculate suggested:

  • Retail pricing

  • Wholesale pricing

  • Consignment pricing

  • Profit margin

  • Cost per piece

  • Price per pound

Know your numbers before deciding what goes on the price tag.

Calculate the Real Cost of Every Kiln Firing

Kiln electricity is only part of the cost.

The Kiln Firing Log helps you account for:

  • Electricity rates

  • Energy consumption

  • Kiln firing cost

  • Element replacement

  • Equipment wear

  • Number of pieces per firing

  • Cost per piece

Your firing costs can then become part of your pottery pricing calculations.

Organize & Cost Your Glaze Recipes

No more glaze recipes scattered across notebooks and scraps of paper.

The Glaze Recipes section lets you:

  • Store your glaze recipes

  • Scale batches

  • Enter raw-material costs

  • Calculate cost per batch

  • Estimate glaze cost per piece

  • Keep your studio recipes organized

Your own material prices determine the calculations.

See Which Craft Shows Are Actually Worth Doing

A busy market does not always mean a profitable market.

Track:

  • Booth fees

  • Event expenses

  • Revenue

  • Profit

  • Hours worked

  • Return on investment

  • Revenue compared with booth cost

  • Profit per hour

Use real numbers to decide which events deserve a place on next year's calendar.
