Do I need pottery experience to use The Clay Blueprints?

No. The collection includes projects suitable for beginners as well as makers with more handbuilding experience. Each blueprint gives you a clear technical starting point, while the included Handbuilding Handbook covers core slab, coil and pinch-building techniques.

What exactly do I get with The Clay Blueprints?

You get access to a complete pottery template library with 150+ blueprints across 5 categories, 750+ printable pages, full-size template shapes, measurements, project guidance and matching components where required.

 

You’ll also receive the Clay Blueprints Handbuilding Handbook, Potter’s Project Planner and Commercial Maker License.

Are the templates full size?

Yes. The relevant template pieces are designed to be printed at 100% / Actual Size, giving you full-size shapes you can use directly as guides for your clay.

 

Larger projects may use multiple pages that are assembled together to create the complete template.

Do the blueprints include both inches and millimetres?

Yes. Measurements are provided in inches and millimetres, so you can work with whichever system you prefer without having to convert everything yourself.

How do I know my printer has printed the template at the correct size?

Print the blueprint at 100% / Actual Size and use the scale verification reference included on the template to check that it has printed correctly.

 

Avoid options such as “Fit to Page,” which can resize the template.

Do I need a special printer?

No. The blueprints are designed to work with standard home printers.

 

Simply download the required pages, print them at the specified scale and assemble any multi-page templates where needed.

Do I have to calculate clay shrinkage myself?

The blueprint sizing already takes shrinkage into account, so you don’t need to manually enlarge every template before starting.

 

Actual fired dimensions can still vary depending on your clay body, moisture level, drying process and firing schedule

Are these only slab-building templates?

No. The library includes projects designed for different handbuilding methods, including slab, coil and pinch construction.

That gives you a much broader range of forms and projects to explore.

Do matching lids and components come with the templates?

Yes. Where a project includes matching lids or multiple components, the blueprint provides the corresponding pieces with proportions designed to work together.

 

Simply print at 100% / Actual Size, follow the measurements, and build from the matching templates. Final fit can still vary slightly depending on your clay body, shrinkage, drying, and firing process.

Can I sell pottery I make using the blueprints?

Yes. Your purchase includes a Commercial Maker License, which allows you to create and sell finished handmade physical pottery made using the included blueprints.

 

The original blueprint files themselves cannot be copied, shared, redistributed or resold.
